Opening the Referral Tree
Navigate to/live/referrals in your Fit4Life OS dashboard. The screen renders an interactive tree diagram built entirely from the Referred by relationships recorded on your customer profiles.
The tree starts completely flat, every customer appears as a root node with no connections, until you record who referred whom on each customer profile. No referral data is inferred automatically.
Reading the Referral Tree
Each node in the tree represents one customer. The lines connecting nodes show referral relationships: a parent node referred the child nodes beneath it.Descendant Count
Each node displays the total number of customers in its subtree, direct referrals plus all of their downstream referrals combined.
Branch Revenue
Each node also shows the cumulative revenue rolled up from every customer in that branch, giving you the full financial impact of a single referrer.
Recording a Referral Relationship
Referral links are set on individual customer profiles, not from the tree view itself. The tree re-renders automatically whenever a relationship is saved.1
Open the customer profile
Go to the Customers screen and open the profile of the patient you want to link to a referrer.
2
Set the 'Referred by' field
Locate the Referred by field on the profile form. Type the name or search for the referring customer in the dropdown selector.
3
Save the profile
Click Save. The referral relationship is now recorded, and the Referral Tree will reflect the new connection the next time you load or refresh the
/live/referrals screen. You can update or remove a referral relationship at any time by editing the customer profile and changing the Referred by field. The tree updates immediately after saving.
Referral Loop Protection
Fit4Life OS prevents two types of invalid referral configurations in the UI:Self-Reference Blocked
A customer cannot be listed as their own referrer. The selector automatically excludes the customer currently being edited.
Direct Cycles Blocked
If Customer A referred Customer B, the system will not allow you to set Customer A as referred by Customer B, preventing circular loops.
Theme Support
The Referral Tree supports both light and dark themes, automatically matching the display preference set in your Fit4Life OS interface. Node colors, branch lines, and label contrast adjust accordingly, so the tree remains readable in either mode during patient-facing presentations or internal reviews.Identifying and Rewarding Top Referrers
The rollup metrics in the tree make it straightforward to find your most valuable advocates.1
Sort by descendant count
Look for the nodes with the highest descendant counts, these customers have built the deepest referral chains and represent your most active promoters.
2
Compare branch revenue
Cross-reference descendant count with branch revenue to distinguish high-volume referrers from high-value ones. A smaller network that generates outsized revenue may deserve a different reward than a large but low-revenue chain.
3
Export or note top referrers
Record the names of your top referrers from the tree and use the Customers screen to tag or message them. Fit4Life OS does not currently auto-trigger rewards, so outreach is a manual step.
